Request New or Maintenance to Existing Traffic Markings
Have you noticed a fading or missing crosswalk line, stop line or centre line?
Be sure to let us know, the street location, colouring of the markings and whether the markings are close to a school.
City staff does lane striping from Monday to Thursday, usually late evenings or early mornings when traffic is light.
Request Pavement Markings
You can request:
- maintenance on existing traffic markings such as no line at a stop, faded traffic or crosswalk lines etc.
- new pavement markings on crosswalks, centerlines or edge lines

Rural Roads Pavement Markings
Centre and edge lines on rural roads provide directional guidance to drivers that may not be provided by the contrast between the road surface and the shoulder.
Criteria for Centre Lines on Rural Roads

Average daily traffic volume from 500 to 2000 - Centre lines painted every second year, generally, a single solid centre line. Paint lines usually remain visible for 2+ years, but reflectivity may diminish in the 2nd year. | 60% of the total rural roads |
Average daily traffic volume <500 - Centre lines will not be painted (includes dead end road and roads servicing only a few residents or farms) | Very few roads |
Tar & Chip Seal Surface Roads - Centre lines will not be painted until the surface has completely stabilized (approximately 6 weeks) |
