Accessibility Awards at the Accessibility Fair
Join us September 26, 2024 at the Accessibility Fair where we will award individuals, groups, and/or organizations that improved access for persons with disabilities.
This year marks the first year for Hamilton’s new Accessibility Awards, a groundbreaking initiative to recognize and celebrate the achievements of individuals, groups, and organizations in improving accessibility for persons with disabilities. The Accessibility Awards will honour, celebrate, and recognize achievements in trailblazing accessibility within Hamilton.
The Award Categories are as follows:
- Individual Award
- Group or Community Organization Award
- Business Award
These awards are affiliated with the City’s Accessibility Committee for Persons with Disabilities (ACPD). The ACPD will play a crucial role in the selection and adjudication of award recipients. Raising awareness about accessibility and universal design remains a key focus.
This awards program underscores the City of Hamilton’s dedication to supporting and recognizing trailblazing contributions to accessibility by demonstrating award recipients' commitment and highlighting their achievements to the broader community.
The awards will be presented during the Accessibility Fair at Hamilton City Hall Forecourt on September 26, 2024, 11 am to 3 pm.
Nomination & Selection Process
- Nominations are open July 16 to August 15, 2024.
- Selection process will occur August 15 to September 4, 2024.
