Air Monitoring Sites - PAH Data

University of Toronto Professor Matt Adams and his research team conducted an air quality monitoring project in Hamilton for two summer months in 2022. The project collected air samples at the level of neighborhood by selecting air sampling sites based on geographical and population characteristics. The contaminants sampled in the study include Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), including Benzo[a]pyrene. Learn more about this project.

University of Toronto conducted an air quality monitoring project in Hamilton from February 2022 to May 2023. The project collected air samples at the level of neighbourhood by selecting air sampling sites based on geographical and population characteristics. The contaminants sampled in the study include ground level ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and sulphur dioxide (SO2). In the 2021 Census, Statistics Canada introduced the concept of gender. Given that the non-binary population is small, data aggregation to a two-category gender variable was necessary to protect the confidentiality of responses provided.
