Our online platforms, ePLANS and ProjectDOX are not operational. If you have an active building permit application, please resubmit your permit package in person at City Hall, third floor service counter.
NOTICE: The Applicable Law Checklist is required to be submitted with certain Building Permit applications.
Is your project near the LRT Corridor? As a result of the Building Transit Faster Act, 2020 you may be required to get a Corridor Development Permit from Metrolinx prior to applying for your building permit. Visit Metrolinx.com/permits for more information.

Building Permits are necessary to ensure that fire, construction and structural safety standards are met. Permits also confirm that the project follows Zoning By-laws. It is your responsibility to ensure that a Building Permit is obtained prior to construction or demolition.

What happens if I do not get a Building Permit?
If construction has started prior to the issuance of a Building Permit, consequences may include:
- Costly repairs may be required to gain compliance
- Removal of work done not in compliance with the Ontario Building Code and/or other applicable law may be required
- The Building Permit fee may be increased
- Legal action may be initiated by the Building Division to gain compliance

How do I submit a complaint or a compliment?
