Drop-in skate programs
Drop-In programs are a fun and positive way to practice new skills, get your daily dose of physical activity and spend time with family and friends.

Open Skate
Enjoy skating for all ages. Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible guardian 18 years and older. CSA helmets are strongly recommended during Public Skating sessions by all participants.
Open Skate 18+
Enjoy skating for ages 18+. CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended.
Open Skate 55+
55 years and older. Come and enjoy some fun skating at your local arena. CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended.
Open Skate (Family)
Enjoy a family skate for adults ages (18+) with a limit of 5 children per adult. No additional equipment is permitted (i.e. hockey Stick, pucks, etc). CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended. Skate aids are permitted in designated area on the ice surface.
Open Skate (Parent & Tot)
Skating for children accompanied by parents. Children must be 5 years of age and under. Child is required to wear a CSA approved helmet. It is strongly recommended that adults also wear a CSA approved helmet. Pre-schoolers are permitted with or without a skating aid on the ice.
Figure Skate 18+
Practice your edges, crossovers, turning and improve overall strength and endurance. For all adult level figure skaters. No jumps or lifts permitted during this skate. CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended. Coaching or Instruction during this program is not permitted.
Stick & Puck (9 & under)
Enjoy this time to practice puck handling, passing, shooting, and skating skills, for children 9 years and under. Children must be accompanied on the ice by a responsible Adult 18+. Mandatory equipment includes a CSA approved hockey helmet and face mask. Full hockey equipment is recommended. Organized hockey games, slap shots, and structured practices are not permitted. This program is limited to a maximum of 40 persons on the ice at one time. A maximum limit of 2 children per Adult 18+.
Shinny 18+
Pick up recreational hockey for ages 18+. Maximum of 30 participants per session (excluding goaltenders). Sign in no earlier than 30 minutes before the start of the program, at the reception desk. Goaltenders are free. Full equipment is mandatory and CSA approved hockey
Shinny 55+
Pick up recreational hockey for 55+. Maximum of 30 participants per session (excluding goaltenders). Sign in no earlier than 30 minutes before the start of the program, at the reception desk. Goaltenders are free. Full equipment is mandatory, and CSA approved hockey helmets are mandatory. Non-contact rules apply.
- Please respect, listen, and follow instructions from Arena Staff at all times.
- All participants must wear skates.
- CSA helmets are strongly recommended.
- No food or drink permitted on the ice surface.
- Skate in the direction of other skaters
- No skating backwards, No horseplay/games, no figure skating maneuvers, no erratic/excessive speed skating.
- No balls/pucks/sticks.
- Skate Aids are permitted. (Designated areas may be determined during busy Skates).
- Baby strollers/pylons/chairs or any other item deemed unsafe are not permitted.
- No headsets, cellphones, or handheld electronic devices are to be used while skating.
- Carrying of children is strictly prohibited.
- Sitting on the boards or loitering is not permitted.
- Wheelchairs/Accessible Equipment are permitted during skates, with the accompaniment of a responsible adult aged 18 or older with skates on.
- Wheels must be cleaned of sand and salt prior to entering the ice surface to ensure the safety of skaters.
- Children 12 and under must be supervised on or off the ice by a responsible adult age 18 or older
- Report all accidents and/or injuries to Arena Staff immediately.
Assumption of Risk
Skaters and spectators are deemed to have knowledge of and assume the inherent risks including, but not limited to:
- Injuries from collisions or contact with other individuals on the ice surface
- Injuries from falls
Failure to comply with the Above Rules may result in your removal from the ice.
