Dover Park playground is located at 66 Dover Drive in Ward 5. Amenities featured in this park include soccer fields and a playground.
The existing playground, constructed in 2022, includes a junior/ senior play structure, a saucer swing and stand-alone features, which has provided the community with a place to enjoy the outdoors.
This fall (2026), the playground at Dover Park will be expanded to include a larger play structure, new climber and full swing set.
Please note that a Play Your Way engagement process was not undertaken due to the constraints of the site while working with the existing play equipment. However, the new play structure will bring additional play opportunities to community.

Why isn’t my park on the list?
Playground equipment is regularly inspected by City of Hamilton Parks staff. Play structures are replaced based on structure condition and available budget.
Minor issues can often be repaired and do not necessarily require the replacement of an entire structure.
I don’t like any of the options in the survey, how do I suggest something else?
We would love to hear from you! You can submit your suggestions or feedback via email to [email protected]
When will my park be scheduled for playground replacement?
Playground replacement is subject to budget approval by council and is determined by a number of factors including:
- Age of the structure in comparison to anticipated life span
- Results of staff inspections, including condition of the structure
- Opportunities to replacement a structure at the same time other construction is taking place at the location
- Available funding (Capital and other funding sources)
Who should I call regarding repairs to the playground?
For inquiries and questions regarding any ongoing repairs or maintenance to existing playground equipment, please direct them to 905-546-CITY (2489) or [email protected]
