Options for every need and preference. Hamilton Municipal Cemeteries offers traditional burial and cremation options, Columbariums, Cremorials and a variety of personalized family & individual niches, cremation benches and memorial options in our 69 Cemeteries.

Urns

We provide a wide choice of cremation urns from traditional to contemporary styles constructed of a broad variety of materials – metal, wood, ceramic or stone. Many urns can be enhanced with personalization including engraving and meaningful symbols reflecting the life of a loved one. Our quality cremation products include cremation and keepsake urns. Memorial keepsakes provide a lovely way to keep their memory alive.

Temporary Markers

These temporary markers can be used for up to one year while the permanent marker is selected and installed. Temp markers include the inscription of a name and date of death.

Graveside Services & Memorial Service

The idea of honouring our loved ones at their permanent resting place is a time-honoured tradition. We care for these places and visit them to remember and feel connected to this special person in our lives. Hamilton Municipal Cemeteries provides a beautiful and peaceful environment for our loved ones to rest and for us to honour their memory. Many families host graveside or memorial service at a graveside, columbarium or garden area of one of our Cemeteries.

Vaults – Burial and Urn Vaults

A selection of vaults and outer containers for both casket and cremation burials are available.

Burial Vaults
A burial vault is a lined and sealed outer receptacle that houses the casket. It protects the casket from the weight of the earth and heavy maintenance equipment that will pass over the grave. It also helps resist water and preserves the beauty of the cemetery or memorial park by preventing the ground from settling. 

Cremation Urn Vaults
A cremation urn vault is a lined and sealed outer receptacle that houses the cremation urn, protecting it from the weight of the earth and cemetery maintenance equipment that will pass over it. Lined urn vaults provide protection from subsoil elements while preventing the ground from settling, thus maintaining the beauty of the grounds. Urn vaults are made of high-strength concrete and reinforced with various lining materials including bronze, copper, stainless steel, and high-impact plastics.
