A ticket is an "offence notice" issued to an individual or corporation.
Options to Resolve an Offence Notice
You must action your ticket by selecting one of the options listed on the ticket within 15 days of receiving your ticket.

Please note that it may take 10 or more days after you are given an Offence Notice or ticket for your case to appear in the system to accept payment online or by phone. You can pay your offence notice in one of 3 ways:
- It takes up to three business days to process your payment and update the court records.
- It can take up to five business days to update the Ministry of Transportation records.

- Payment can be made with Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard or Mastercard Debit
- Have your ticket number and credit card information available when you call.

- You must include or bring your offence notice, notice of fine and due date or the ticket number with your payment.
For Early Resolution Meetings, you have the option to appear by audio, video or in-person.
For Guilty Pleas, you have the option to appear in-person or virtually. If you appear virtually it is recommended that you appear by video.
To request an early resolution meeting with a prosecutor, confirm your address is correct on your ticket and complete one of the following:
- Online Submit a POA Online Services Request
- By Email: Check Option 2 on your ticket, scan the front and back of the ticket in PDF format and email to [email protected]
- By Mail/In Person: Check Option 2 on your ticket, attend in person or deliver to Provincial Offences Administration at 50 Main Street East, Room 110, Hamilton, ON L8N 1E9
If you cannot attend on the date and/or time of your scheduled Early Resolution meeting, complete the Request to Reschedule/Postpone an Early Resolution Meeting (POA 859).

For Trial Matters you have the option to appear in-person or virtually. If you appear virtually you must appear by video.
You can appear in court to plead not guilty by submitting a Notice of Intention to Appear Form.
- Complete the form and submit via the “Email Form” button on the form.
- If you are unable to submit through the form, email it to [email protected].

Hamilton Police Service
If you have been charged with speeding by a Hamilton Police Service officer and the officer used a radar or laser device to obtain the speed reading, you can obtain a copy of the relevant manual for the device used by clicking on the link to the manual.
