If you would like to rename a local existing street you must:
- Make all effort to avoid changing the name of the street in question
- Consider renaming a street only when a duplication of the name occurs within the City of Hamilton or when renaming would provide a general improvement to the City’s administration of essential services and in the public’s interest
Street names should be selected from the list of names maintained by the City’s Planning and Economic Development department and must adhere to the Street Name Policies, Guidelines, and Requirements for the selection of a street name.
