Not-for-profit, Charitable organizations and City-run event organizers may reserve the banner space over King Street in Dundas or on the City Hall facade facing Main St. West in Hamilton.

Applications must be completed online and submitted at least 60 days prior to installation date. Submissions must include draft banner design.

Banner design must be incompliance with the City of Hamilton Commercial Advertising and Sponsorship Policy, June 2008.
Banners will be displayed for a maximum of two weeks. One week can be reserved. Your banner may stay up a second week subject to requests from other organizations.
Banners are installed and removed on Monday mornings.
You must provide proof of $2,000,000 public liability insurance naming the City of Hamilton as an added insured.
The design and construction of the banner must conform to the banner specifications(PDF, 177.37 KB). Banners that do not meet these specifications will not be installed.
Banners for the Hamilton location must be delivered to City Hall, 71 Main Street West, Hamilton at least one week prior to the installation date. Banners must be picked up from City Hall immediately upon removal.
Banners for the Dundas location must be delivered to the Dundas Municipal Service Centre, 60 Main Street West, Dundas, at least two weeks prior to the installation date. You will be notified by the City when the banner is available for pick-up.
The City of Hamilton shall under no circumstances be held liable for any damage to your banner that might, for any reason, occur during the installation, removal or display of your banner. By submitting a banner for display you are doing so entirely at your own risk.

Conditions & Requirements

No advertisements which convey a religious or political message, promote a political party or election candidate, promote tobacco use or substance abuse, present demeaning or derogatory portrayals of individuals or groups or contain anything, which in light of generally prevailing community standards may cause offence will be permitted on City property or publications.

By submitting a Banner Application, Applicants hereby acknowledge and agree that the City of Hamilton shall under no circumstances be held liable for any damage to banners that might, for any reason, occur during the installation, removal or display of a banner. Furthermore, by submitting a Banner Application to the City of Hamilton, Applicants acknowledge and agree that they are doing so entirely at their own risk and Applicants hereby release and forever discharge the City of Hamilton from any and all actions, claims and demands arising out of or in any way related to an Applicant’s Banner Application or the installation, removal or display of a banner.

Maximum duration of banner display is two (2) weeks. One week will be reserved; however, the second week will be subject to requests from other organizations.
Banners will be installed and removed on Monday mornings.
Applicants must indemnify and the save the City of Hamilton harmless from all actions, causes of action, interest, claims, demands, costs, damages, expenses and loss.
Not-for-profit and Charitable organizations, Special Event Organizers as well as City Divisions / Departments may apply to have a Banner installed at a Designated Location. Banners will not be installed to advertise products, services or events of a commercial nature at the request of a for-profit business.
Applicants must provide proof of liability and property damage insurance of at least $2,000,000, naming the City of Hamilton as an added insured party. Proof of insurance is required at least two (2) months prior to installation of the banner. Failure to submit proof of insurance shall void reservation.
The design and construction of the banner shall conform to the banner specifications(PDF, 177.37 KB). Banners will not be erected if they do not conform to the specifications.
Applicants must submit a drawing to the Public Works Department showing the subject matter and message content of new banners prior to fabrication.
Applicants must arrange with the coordinator to deliver the Hamilton banner to City Hall 71 Main St. West, one (1) week prior to the installation date.
Applicants must recover the Hamilton banner from City Hall after notification from the coordinator that the banner is ready to be picked up. The City will not be responsible for any banner remaining in our possession the week after the banner was installed.

Notice of Collection

The City of Hamilton collects information under authority of section 227 of the Municipal Act, 2001. Any personal information collected for the Banner Program will be used to fulfill the banner application requirements. Information collected for this initiative may be stored on servers located in Canada and may be subject to Canadian laws.
