Hamilton’s Breastfeeding Coalition
The Hamilton Breastfeeding Coalition includes a variety of members and healthcare organizations from across Hamilton and has been meeting since 2011.
Vision
- To positively influence the health of pregnant people, infants, parents, caregivers, and families in Hamilton through the protection, promotion, and support of breastfeeding.
Mission
- To collaboratively plan, implement, and evaluate infant feeding initiatives for families in the City of Hamilton.
Membership
The Breastfeeding Coalition has a wide variety of members representing different professions, including International Board Certified Lactation Consultants® (IBCLC®), Registered Midwives, Medical Doctors, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Registered Dietitians, among others.

- Developing and promoting breastfeeding resources and educational materials
- Co-developed the Pregnancy and New Parent Guide with Hamilton Public Library – Red Book
