The safety of our tenants and communities is our top priority. The City of Hamilton’s Vision is to be the best place to raise a child and age successfully. Hamilton is committed to being a safe and supportive city for all people regardless of their age, background, colour, religion, ability and gender identity. However, the equity, diversity and inclusion mosaic built for many generations in Hamilton also continues to be challenged by hate incidents, racism, discrimination, homophobia, and anti-Semitism. To address these challenges, it takes the entire community working together to reinforce our values, create effective policies and build our community resilience.
Tenant Complaints
What is a complaint?
The complaints process is available to tenants if they feel that the normal interactions that occur between tenants and staff have not met their needs or addressed their issue.
How do I report a complaint?
- To report your complaint or concern, fill out the online complaints Form below or pick-up a paper copy at the Main Office (181 Main St W., 3rd Floor) or your building’s Site Office.
- CHH staff will acknowledge your complaint and start to investigate.
- CHH staff will work with the person who submitted the complaint and/or the person the complaint is about on a resolution wherever possible. CHH will explain what has been done or needs to be done to resolve your complaint.
Complaints are confidential, which means the information CHH can share with tenants about investigations and resolutions is limited. Please know staff are doing all they can to address the issue.
