Stormwater Infrastructure Credit

Application is exclusively for the Stormwater Infrastructure Credit. It applies to institutional, commercial, industrial, and multi-residential properties with seven or more units. Property owners must demonstrate that they have implemented and maintained eligible stormwater management measures.

Stormwater Credits expire five years from the date of approval unless the approval is revoked. Stormwater Credit recipients must ensure that they report any changes to the on-site stormwater measures that would reduce a property's eligible credit amount via this application form.

Premises not in compliance with any of the provisions of the Sewer Use By-law, No. 14-090, as amended, are not eligible for the Stormwater Rate Incentive Program, along with consumers who are not in good financial standing with the City of Hamilton.

General Manager or an Officer may enter on land at any reasonable time and in accordance with the conditions set out in sections 435 and 437 of the Municipal Act, 2001, to carry out an inspection.

2. This application form must be fully completed before it will be considered for approval by the City. Incomplete applications for the Stormwater Rate Incentive Program will not be accepted. A complete application consists of a fully completed and signed Application Form. The information submitted in this application form and accompanying documents is subject to verification by the City.
3. Additional information may be required to be submitted by an applicant during the review of application for the Stormwater Rate Incentive Program including but not limited to engineering reports, drawings, or maintenance records. The City will contact the Applicant in writing, should additional information be required.
4. The original and complete application must be submitted using the online form or by sending a signed completed form electronically or by mail to:

The City of Hamilton collects information under authority of Section 227 of the Municipal Act, 2001.
