Litter Education
City initiatives to stop litter include
Keep Hamilton Clean and Green and Litter-free! Everyone plays a role in keeping Hamilton’s parks, neighbourhoods, and roadways free of litter.
Litter in Hamilton is unsightly, but it’s not just about that. It reflects the health and pride of our community. Whether it's enjoying our scenic parks and trails or navigating our lively neighbourhoods and streets, every piece of litter impacts Hamilton's appearance, the health of our environment, and our overall sense of well-being. Join us and take a stand against litter.

Get involved and make a difference with act on litter. Each year, on the second Tuesday of May, we recognize the Provincial Day of Action on Litter. This initiative is all about spreading awareness of how waste impacts the environment and inspiring people to take action at home and in their communities. In 2024, the Day of Action on Litter falls on May 14th.
