Community Rinks
Community ice rinks are operated in City parks by community volunteer committees.
- Rinks are operational as weather permits and are open until 11 pm daily when lights are shut off.
- There is no fee to use community rinks.
- No equipment, skate, helmet or stick rentals are available.
- All skating is done at the public’s own risk on all outdoor community ice rinks.
- Outdoor ice may have more imperfections than indoor ice, such as bumps, ruts, soft spots, etc. The use of helmets is strongly recommended.
- Please be mindful of locations that have dedicated rinks and/or specific time for shinny (no slapshots).
- Please be respectful of all community patrons that are enjoying the ice. The City’s RZone Respectful Environments Policy is enforced at all locations.
Volunteers are permitted to build community rinks in approved parks however, ice making and ice conditions are weather dependent.
City staff are currently accepting expressions of interest from community members interested in building and maintaining community rinks until January 5, 2026. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and haven’t already expressed interest, please send an email to [email protected] and staff will be able to advise on location availability and related processes.
