All Aboard! Train Theme Birthday Party
A birthday party inspired by the museum’s famous “Golden Horseshoe Live Steamer Days”! This party theme includes:
- A ride on a miniature train, courtesy of the Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers (outdoors)
- A tour of the museum, where children will learn about different types of steam engines, including the 1859 water-pumping engines in the historic Pumphouse
- A train themed craft
- A special train themed gift for the birthday boy or girl

Cool Catapults!
This birthday party theme encourages children to explore simple machines by constructing and testing miniature catapults. This party theme includes:
- A miniature catapult craft for each child, instructed by one of our museum education staff

Arts & Casts
If your child likes arts and crafts then this is the program for you! Children will:
- Learn about the art of metal casting and create moulds and plaster castings of items they decorate and take home.
- Take part in demonstrations and an interactive tour of how the steam engines were built and worked to create a new city.

Radical Reactions
Our party room is turned into a chemistry lab, as birthday party guests will investigate reactions through a series of hands-on science experiments. Included in this party theme:
- Hands-on experiments with different materials, including baking soda/vinegar reactions and “Oobleck” demonstration, led by one of our museum education staff
- A tour of the museum to investigate how solids, liquids, and gases were used to run the 1859 Pumphouse

Creative Me
We offer birthday party programs with an arts twist. Package includes:
- Instructions and supplies for each child to make a take-home craft.
- Topics include texture boxes, paper quilt making and many others.
- Use of the grounds at Fieldcote. This seven acre property with its gardens, woodland and winding trail provides a beautiful setting for any outdoor activities you might wish to include.

Carpet Bag of Fun

Scullduggery
Come and celebrate your birthday at Dundurn Castle by imagining what life was like for 19th century children employed in a large estate. Children will:
- Make a traditional recipe in the historic kitchen with the cook, then taste what you have made!
- Explore the Castle, trying a variety of chores that servants were responsible for in the 19th century.

Life in the Army
During the War of 1812 British Soldiers were stationed at Burlington Heights where the museum now sits. Celebrate your birthday like a solider this year at The Hamilton Military Museum.

Afternoon Tea Party
Battlefield House Museum was the home of James and Mary Gage and their ten children in the early 1800s. The family welcomed many travellers, visitors, family members and friends to their home for meals and a place to stay. Children will:
- Dress up in reproduction historic clothing.
- Bake a traditional dessert by the open hearth and learn about what life was like for children two hundred years ago.
- Play an old-fashioned game and have the option to make a historic craft.
- Visit the 100-foot tall Battlefield Monument, weather permitting.

Old-fashioned Ice Cream Party
Hand-churning your own delicious ice-cream and playing historic games is a great way to celebrate your Birthday! Explore the historic home and learn about the McQuesten Family through photographs, interactives and stories. Children in the past enjoyed playing games and eating ice-cream as much as the kids of today. You will:
- Explore the family home and the cook’s quarters set in 1939
- Visit The Stable and churn an old-fashioned bucket of vanilla ice cream (including tasting)

CSI - Mystery of the Missing Snacks
Join Hamilton Children’s Museum staff at Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum where guest will solve the mystery of the missing snacks.
A group of Mascot friends get together every week to visit and enjoy snacks. This week is different; the snacks are missing!
Party guests use their sleuthing skills to investigate the evidence and solve the mystery of the missing snacks.
Package includes:
- Staff-led activities to examine evidence such as finger prints, fiber and handwriting samples
- The analysis of a variety of substances with a black light
- The use of investigative tools to identify the culprit
