Description of Proposal
Application Status: The applications were received on December 19, 2024 and deemed to be complete effective May 26, 2025, through order of the Ontario Land Tribunal (Case No OLT-25-000201). The draft plan of condominium application has been held in abeyance by the application. These applications were presented at the Planning Committee on September 9, 2025, and denied by Hamilton City Council at the Statutory Public Meeting held on September 17, 2025. A recommendation report PED25234 assessing the merits of the applications was prepared by City staff and submitted to City Council.

The City of Hamilton’s Planning and Economic Development Department recently hosted a virtual open house to provide residents with an opportunity to learn about and comment on the 159 & 163 Sulphur Springs Urban Boundary Expansion application. Public Feedback
Residents were given the opportunity to share their questions and feedback on the Sulphur Springs application prior to the September 9, 2025 meeting. The comments were included in the City’s Planning Division Public Engagement Summary Report.
