Registration for 2026 Summer programs starts on June 10 (all Recreation Centres) & 12 (Senior Centres) at 8 am. Please note: summer programs may have different schedules. Before registering, review the dates, times, and number of sessions offered each week.

PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS:
Ancaster Aquatic Center: All morning registered and drop in programming cancelled Friday May 22, 2026 due to the Dare to tri race. All regular scheduled programming will resume as of 4 pm.
Kanétskare Recreation Centre: Drop-in Cardio Dance (55+) is cancelled Thurs, May 21, Tues, May 26, Thurs, May 28, and Tues, June 2, 2026.
CLOSURES:
Dalewood Recreation Center: Accessibility Chair Lift is out-of-order until further notice as of January 23, 2026.
Stoney Creek Recreation Centre: Waterslide closed due to mechanical issues February 20, 2026 until further notice.
Westmount Recreation Centre: The Hoyer Lift and mobile adult change table in the universal changeroom will be unavailable on Wednesday May 20 (all day), Tuesday June 16, 2026 after 3 pm, Wednesday June 17 (all day).
Norman Pinky Lewis Recreation Centre: Chairlift is unavailable as of April 23 and awaiting service.
MAINTENANCE CLOSURES:
Jimmy Thompson Pool: Due to significant repairs required to the pool basin uncovered during scheduled maintenance, the re-opening date of the pool will be delayed until further notice. Given the pool’s heritage status and cultural importance, the facility will remain closed while a feasibility assessment is undertaken to determine the scope, approach, and requirements for the necessary restoration work. During this closure, residents are encouraged to attend drop-in programming at nearby locations including Bernie Morelli Recreation Centre, Norman Pinky Lewis Recreation Centre and Central Memorial Recreation Centre.
Valley Park Pool: Closed March 23 to Summer 2026 to begin work on the pool basin, waterslide replacement and changerooms.
Bennetto Community Centre: will be closed from Tuesday, August 4, 2026, to Fall 2026, to undergo auditorium renewal work. Improvements will include the addition of interior and exterior ramps to enhance accessibility, audio-visual upgrades to support public meetings and performances, renewal of the gymnasium flooring, enhancements to the existing universal washroom, and modifications to two existing gendered washrooms.
Sir Winston Churchill Recreation Centre: will be closed from Tuesday, August 4, 2026, to Fall 2026, to undergo a pool filtration system replacement, accessibility updates to existing universal washroom and necessary lifecycle renewal upgrades and enhancements. The closure will enable all required work to be completed safely at one-time to minimize disruptions in service and programming at the Centre.

Valley Park Community Centre is reopening on Monday April 13 for regular site users. The gymnasium opening will be delayed until Tuesday, April 21, 2026 to allow time for the new floor installation to cure. This curing process is important to ensure the floor is safe, durable, and ready for use. Registered program participants within impacted programs will be notified directly by phone.
