The property is currently a municipal parking lot and has recently been rezoned to Mixed-Use Medium Density (C5). Council approved the Zoning By-law Amendment on January 21st, 2026, and the appeal period concluded on February 24th, 2026.
A number of studies were submitted in support of the amendment. These documents are available under Project Updates.
The lands will be offered at a nominal value to a non-profit housing provider to develop and operate housing. In accordance with the Affordable Housing Supply Schedule (AHSS) criteria, 100% of all units within the project must be allocated as affordable housing. The selected non-profit developer will determine the final unit mix and number of parking spaces to be provided.
