Call Health Connections Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm to talk with a public health nurse.
In the first few years of life, your baby’s brain is growing very quickly. More than 1 million brain connections are formed every second. The experiences your baby has every day impacts the development of their brain and leads to them learning things such as:
- How to think and problem solve
- How to get along with others
- How to respond in stressful situations
You can support your child’s brain health by:
- Being active with your child and eating healthy foods
- Encouraging your child to interact with others
- Reading to your child
- Playing games with your child that involve problem-solving, creativity, and their imagination
- Building routines
