Short-Term Residential Swimming Pool Rentals by Private Homeowners
Private pool owners who are considering renting out their residential pool to members of the public must first contact the City of Hamilton’s Planning Department for approvals prior to any pool short-term rental. Schedule a Pre-Opening Inspection for New or Renovated Public Pool or Spa
Owners are required to designate a pool operator and to notify the Medical Officer of Health in writing, of their intention to open. At least 14 days before the re-opening of a public pool, spa, or Class C facility (e.g. wading pool, splash pad, receiving basin) or after any closure that lasts for more than four weeks, the owner or operator shall notify in writing the Medical Officer of Health or a public health inspector.
