Event Details

A Community Recycling Centre (CRC) is a place where residents can drop off things that aren’t picked up at the curb. There is no cost to drop off things that will be recycled, but you have to pay to drop off garbage. Please note that trailers are not permitted at any CRC.

Waste Transfer Stations are for commercial customers and waste collection trucks to drop off waste.

Shingles (fees apply)
- Asphalt shingles can be disposed of in the Shingles Bunker at the Transfer Station located inside the Community Recycling Centre (enter the scales at the Transfer Station)
- Clay and wood shingles can be disposed of in the Garbage at the Community Recycling Centre

Tires

Tires/Rims (from cars and small picks ups only)- 10 per day, tires must be fully intact, tires that have been cut are not accepted.

Wood

2x4’s or 2x2’s of clean wood
Wooden Logs - 12 to 16 inch no longer than 4 ft, keep the dirt out if there are roots

Commercial vehicles may once per month dump leaf and yard which permits the commercial vehicle one trip per month as a non-commercial vehicle, provided waste is from the operator's own personal residence.

Deposits are required based on the gross weight of the commercial vehicle.

Green Bin Pick-up

If you need to get a green bin you will need a service number to pick one up. You can submit a request by calling 905-546-2489.

Service request numbers are provided Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Once you have a service number, green bins and blue boxes can be picked up from one of the Community Recycling Centres.
You must bring your service number with you.

Pick up schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm at any of the Community Recycling Centres.

Blue Box Replacements

As of April 1, 2025 Blue boxes are no longer available for pick-up at Community Recycling Centres. Blue box distribution will be managed by GFL Environmental Inc.

To replace a broken blue box, contact [email protected] or call 1-844-415-4351 (Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm).
If you need an additional blue box, you must purchase one at a retail store.

Drop 'n' Shop Thrift Store

Drop 'n' Shop Thrift Store, operated by Community Living Hamilton, is located at the Hamilton Mountain Community Recycling Centre. You can donate things that are in good condition. Not everything you are trying to donate may be taken. Bicycle helmets, cribs, car seats and mattresses are not accepted at the Drop 'n' Shop Thrift Store.

Operating Hours
The store will be open 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday. Items can be dropped off from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday.
