Eastmount Park Redevelopment
A public engagement campaign will be coming February 10. Engagement will allow residents to provide comments and feedback on the proposed draft park concepts.
Eastmount Park is located at 115 East 26th Street in Hamilton within Ward 7. The park is approximately 3.5 hectares in size and fronts on to East 26th Street, with residential properties to the north, east and south. Existing features include the Eastmount Community Centre, a spray pad, playground, four softball diamonds and paved pathways. There are three parking lots that serve the park; two lots are located on Queensdale Avenue East, and the other parking lot is on East 26th Street adjacent to the Community Centre.
The existing spray pad and playground in the park are nearing the end of their life cycles and are now in need of replacement. Additionally, a multi-use court is proposed to be installed at the park. As part of the planning process, the City will engage with local residents to shape the vision of this space. The project scope will include:
During the consultation period, residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the design concepts, multi-use court options, spray pad, and playground features.
