Current Projects
The City of Hamilton is dedicated to providing residents with safe and efficient community recreation centres. The lifecycle renewal upgrades and enhancements scheduled at Huntington Park Recreation Centre from Spring to late Fall 2025 will result in an updated facility featuring a new waterslide, pool, deck and changeroom updates as well as paint refresh in several spaces throughout the centre.
During the closure, individuals are encouraged to attend drop-in and registered programs at the following locations:
- Hill Park Recreation Centre
- Sir Wilfrid Laurier Recreation Centre
The City of Hamilton thanks residents for their patience as we complete this required work.
The expansion includes construction of a brand-new double gymnasium with adult-sized courts for multiple sports (basketball, volleyball, badminton and pickleball). The project will also include new painting, flooring and fixtures within the existing building, a new reception and front entrance canopy, and a multi-purpose community space. Regular maintenance work on the pool will also be completed during this closure.
Programming at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Recreation Centre, including drop-in gym and swim, after-school program, and any other registered programs, will remain operational until June 30, 2023. Members of the public, rental groups and staff will no longer have access to the facility once construction begins.
During the closure, individuals are encouraged to attend drop-in and registered programs at the following locations:
- Dominic Agostino Riverdale Community Centre
- H.G. Brewster Pool
- Huntington Park Recreation Centre
- Sir Winston Churchill Recreation Centre
- Stoney Creek Recreation Centres
- Valley Park Community Centre
The City of Hamilton thanks residents for their patience as we complete this exciting expansion.
