CityHousing Hamilton 25^th Anniversary Tenant Appreciation Picnic

Over the past 25 years, CHH has supported thousands of individuals and families across the city, contributing to strong, diverse, and resilient communities. The picnic bbq will help recognize and celebrate the people and communities that make up CHH, while highlighting the role of affordable housing in strengthening Hamilton.

Partner organizations like the Hamilton Public Library & Hamilton Police Services will also be in attendance.

To help with planning, please complete the registration form to confirm how many people from your household will be attending and your meal preference.

Policies & Procedures

Rent-geared-to-income tenants must file income taxes to remain eligible.

Beginning July 1, 2021 we must receive your most recent Notice of Assessment in order to proceed with your rent calculation. If not received, you will be ineligible for the subsidy and will go to the market rent amount for your unit. We have resources to help you get your current and previous taxes done

Property Taxes

CityHousing Hamilton (CHH) does not pay municipal education and property tax on most of its properties. Tenants living in tax-exempt properties cannot claim the property tax portion of the Ontario Trillium Benefit.

The Ontario Trillium Benefit is a provincial program administered by the Canada Revenue Agency. For questions related to this benefit, please visit the Canada Revenue Agency.

Please note that CHH will not issue rent receipts for tax purposes on tax-exempt properties.
