Parenting can be hard. Many parents struggle to have time for themselves. Needing time for yourself does not mean you’re doing anything wrong or there’s anything wrong with you. There is no strategy that works for everyone all the time. You might need to try a few different strategies to find one that works for you and fits in your life. Being consistent in small ways can have a big impact. Taking care of yourself is part of taking care of your family.
Caring for yourself can help you:
- Feel more relaxed, calm, and positive
- Build confidence in your parenting
- Be kind to yourself when problems happen
- Manage emotions in healthy ways
- Set a positive example for your child
