OFH Summit
The Our Future Hamilton Summit brings together community partners and residents to explore topical issues, inspire meaningful discussions, and build partnerships to make collective change in our communities.
From 2016-2019, the City hosted the free summit, with each year focusing on a unique & practical theme area linked to the vision’s community priorities.
Our work is focused on making connections to and building relationships with residents, key local partners and organizations throughout Hamilton to collaboratively make positive impacts on our city. In order to ensure this work is meaningful and relevant, we prioritize working alongside residents and empowering them to be directly involved in making the decisions that impact their communities. Through this, we strive to cultivate and support collaborative spaces where a passion and sense of pride for the city exists among residents through community-based initiatives.
The City of Hamilton’s Community Engagement approach is tied directly to Our Future Hamilton, and is further strengthened by the Term of Council Priorities, Outcomes and Measures of Success that prioritize getting more people involved in decision making and problem solving. These initiatives collectively guide our work to actively and meaningfully involve residents in City decisions, while identifying and addressing barriers to participation.
Engage Hamilton Presents… Our Future Hamilton
Our Future Hamilton is the City’s 25-year community vision. It builds on the legacy of Vision 2020, Hamilton’s first community vision that was approved by City Council in 1992. From 2015-2016, OFH engaged with nearly 55,000 residents and community partners to create a new shared community vision, including six community priorities, 88 key directions, and 57 signs of success to guide long-term planning.
