Screening

We encourage students, teachers, school staff and visitors to self-screen for symptoms of illness every day before going to school or child care. Stay home if you are sick. Leave only if you need to seek testing or medical care.

You can also use the Ministry of Health’s self-assessment tool if you have any symptoms of illness or tested positive for COVID-19. You can also take it on behalf of a student, child, or someone else. You will get a recommendation on what to do next. 

Hamilton Public Health Services does not require that businesses or employers have policies regarding preventing the spread of COVID-19. Employers may implement their own rules and policies related to vaccination, distancing, and/or masking within their own settings and customers should respect and follow these rules.

Additionally, employers can implement separate requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) for employees. If you are an employer and you need PPE, you can find a company or business association that supplies PPE.
