Civic Holiday Weekend: What's Open & Closed
All City of Hamilton administrative offices will be closed on Monday, August 4 and will reopen on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
For emergencies involving roads, water mains, sewer systems, and safety issues, please call 905-546-2489 (CITY).

- Hamilton Municipal Parking System Office
- Parking Control Officers will not enforce routine matters or complaints from Sunday, August 3 at 5:45 am until August 4 at 10 pm.
- Proactive enforcement may occur for special events and areas of interest.

Service Adjustments
Hamilton Street Railway (HSR)
- Buses will operate on a Sunday service level, with the last trips leaving from downtown at approximately 12 am (midnight). MyRide in Waterdown and Trans-Cab service will align with HSR Sunday schedules.
- For assistance, call 905-546-2489. Phone service is available 7 days a week, including holidays, from 7:30 am to 8 pm.
DARTS
- Holiday service hours
- All subscription trips (except dialysis) are cancelled. If passengers need to travel on this day, they must make a reservation in advance.
Waste Collection
- There will be no green bin, blue box, yard waste, garbage or scheduled bulk garbage pick-up on Monday, August 4, 2025. Waste collection will occur one day later for the rest of the week. Waste must be at the curb by 7 am on your collection day.
- Community Recycling Centres will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2025.
