Update: Repairs on Hwy 8 Hill in Dundas

HAMILTON, ON - Earlier this month, the City of Hamilton closed the Hwy 8 Hill in Dundas due to significant erosion caused by a rain storm. The road is currently closed in both directions between Bond Street and Hillcrest Ave.

Over the last week, the City has been investigating and evaluating options for repairing the significant damage to the slope and the road. Substantial repairs are required and are scheduled to begin early next week.

The road will remain completely closed for approximately the next month while crews install temporary structural elements and drainage solutions in the area.

The Hwy 8 Hill is scheduled for more significant capital restoration in the coming years.

Access to the Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club being maintained from the top of the hill only.
