Each year the Tourism and Culture Division of the City of Hamilton holds a fun, online Famous Hamiltonian Contest. A theme and nominees are selected, and anyone can vote online. This year’s theme was Hamilton Stage and Screen. We had six nominees representing more than 150 years of Hamilton entertainers. All nominees have made significant contributions to the stories of our City, and the stories of our city is what the annual contest is all about.
- Jean Adair (1873-1953) Appeared in Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant
- Julia Arthur (1869-1950) Hamilton’s foremost Shakespearean actor
- Graham Greene (1952 - ) Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing, and Dances with Wolves
- Florence Lawrence (1886-1938) Silent film star, among the first movie stars
- Eugene Levy (1946 - ) SCTV, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind
- Martin Short (1950 - ) SCTV, SNL, Three Amigos, Only Murders in the Building
