Residents invited to provide feedback about aging in Hamilton
HAMILTON, ON – Residents are invited to complete the Aging in Hamilton Survey to help identify the needs, priorities and challenges facing older adults and seniors.
Survey feedback will help inform the development of Hamilton’s Age Friendly Plan 2020-2025, being developed by the City of Hamilton in partnership with the Hamilton Council on Aging and the Seniors Advisory Committee of Council.
Older adults and residents of all ages may complete the survey online at www.hamilton.ca/agefriendly. Print copies are also available at all municipal seniors centres and seniors clubs. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and will be available until September 30, 2019.
The Age Friendly Plan 2020-2025 will aim to address the current and future needs and priorities of older adults and seniors in Hamilton. It will play a continued role in supporting the City to achieve its vision to be the best place to raise a child and age successfully.

- Hamilton’s Age Friendly Plan 2020-2025 represents the City’s second Age Friendly Plan and is scheduled for release in spring 2020.
- The first and award-winning Age Friendly Plan was released in 2014 and aligns with the City’s 10-year Strategic Plan, with two priorities especially – Healthy & Safe Communities and Community Engagement & Participation.
- The Age Friendly Hamilton 2014-2019 Community Progress Report outlines the achievements of key objectives made as of March 2019, with 47 actions completed, 44 in the planning or implementation stages, and 10 pending completion or reassessment.
