Same water service, now billed by your City.
The City of Hamilton has been advised that Alectra will no longer be providing water meter reading and water billing services. The City will be taking on this responsibility to ensure residents continue to receive seamless and reliable service. This change reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to improve efficiency, make services more transparent and easier to access, while allowing Alectra Utilities to focus on electricity delivery.
Beginning April 2026, you will receive your water bill directly from the City of Hamilton through Hamilton Utilities Billing (HUB) by mail or electronic billing
This does not affect water service, water quality or water rates.
Important: If you currently receive your electricity bill from Alectra, this will not be impacted. Your account number and payment method will stay the same.

Pre-Authorized Payments
As part of the transition of water billing to Hamilton Utilities Billing, customers currently enrolled in pre-authorized payments with Alectra can now re-enrol with HUB to continue enjoying the convenience of automatic payments. To avoid any interruptions to automatic withdrawals, please re-enrol by March 20, 2026.
If you have already submitted your re-enrolment form, thank you. You will receive confirmation once your information has been processed.
