Routes 1 KING & 10 B-LINE Westbound will be on detour due to road closure on King St. from Gage Ave. to John St. for the Open Streets event. Detour details, including a list of closed stops, temporary stops, and a detour map, can be found below.

Route 1 King & 10 B-Line Westbound

• Buses heading downtown are on detour from King Street at Gage Avenue - turn right on Gage Avenue, left on Cannon Street, left on John Street, right on King Street and resume regular routing on King Street west of John Street.

Routes 2 Barton, 3 Cannon, 4 Bayfront and 20 A Line will be on detour on the second Friday of each month from 5 pm to 11 pm. This is due to a road closure on James Street; York Boulevard/Wilson Street to Murray Street for Art Crawl.

Route 2 Barton - Westbound

• Buses will detour from Barton at John, turning left on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

Route 3 Cannon - Westbound

• Buses will detour from Cannon at John, turning left on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

Route 4 Bayfront

• Eastbound buses will continue north on MacNab Street from Murray Street, then turn right on Strachan Street and left on James Street to resume the regular route north of Strachan.
• Westbound buses will detour from James at Strachan, turning left on Strachan Street, right on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

Route 20 A-Line

• Northbound buses will detour from James at Main, turning right on Main Street, left on John Street, left on Strachan Street, and right on James Street to resume the regular route north of Strachan.
• Southbound buses will detour from James at Strachan, turning left on Strachan Street, right on John Street, right on Rebecca Street, and left on James Street to resume the regular route south of Rebecca.

There will be a road closure on Wilson Street from Wentworth Street to Sanford Avenue from June 12 to August 15 at approx. 6pm. As a result, Route 3 Cannon Eastbound will be on detour. Detour details and a detour map, can be found below.

EASTBOUND TO REID & DUNSMURE - From Wilson Street and Wentworth Street:

• Right on Wentworth Street
• Left on Main Street
• Left on Sherman Avenue
• Right on Cannon Street east of Sherman Avenue.

 WESTBOUND TO DOWNTOWN – No detour required. 

Routes 4 Bayfront, 20 A-Line & 99 Waterfront will be on detour June 21 at 12:01 am to June 23 at 4 am for the Hamilton Italian Heritage Festival event.

Route 4 Bayfront detours: 

• Eastbound – from MacNab St. at Murray St.; continue north on MacNab St., right on Strachan St., left on James St. and resume regular routing on James St. north of Strachan St. 
• Westbound – from James St. at Strachan St.; left on Strachan St., right on John St., right on Barton St., left on James St. and resume regular routing on James St. south of Barton St.

• Southbound - from Strachan St. at James St.; continue east on Strachan St., right on John St., right on Barton St., left on James St. and resume regular routing on James St. south of Barton St. 
  *Note the route 99 Waterfront is for Sunday June 22nd only.

Route 99 Waterfront – Southbound:

• JAMES at WEST HARBOUR GO STATION (common)

As a result of the St. Peter’s Festival, Route 4 Bayfront will detour due to the road closures on MacNab St.; Cannon St. to Colbourne St. from 10 am to 1 pm Delays on James St. from Mulberry St. to Cannon St. are also expected during this time.

Eastbound – From York Blvd. at MacNab St

• continue east on York Blvd/Wilson St.
• left on James St.
• resume regular routing on James St. north of Murray St.

This detour covers off both processions at 10 am and at 12:15 pm and the route is to remain on detour for the duration of the event.

Additional Minor Delays
Listed routes will experience minor delays on James St. between Mulberry Street and Cannon Street from approximately 12:30pm to 12:45pm:

• 20 A Line (both directions)
• 99 Waterfront Shuttle (Southbound)

Expected to experience delays during a 15-minute period while the afternoon parade is on James St., between Mulberry St. and Cannon St. These are anticipated from approximately 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm.

As a result of sewer lateral repair on Route 5 Delaware will be on detour from Wednesday June 18 at 7 am until 7 pm on Friday, June 20. Detour details, including a list of closed and temporary stops and detour maps, can be found below. 

Eastbound from Downtown: From Sterling Street and Forsyth Avenue

• Right on Forsyth Avenue
• Left on King Street
• Resume regular eastbound routing on King Street east of Sterling Street.

Westbound from Downtown: From King Street and Sterling Street

• continue west on King Street
• Right on Forsyth Avenue
• Left on Sterling Street
• Resume regular westbound routing on Sterling Street inside McMaster University campus west of Forsyth Avenue.

Routes 5 Delaware, 10 B Line, 34 Upper Paradise, 99 Waterfront Shuttle will be on detour June 22 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm, due to road closure for the Sikh Remembrance Day Parade event.

Route 5 Delaware detours: 

• Westbound (2:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. only)– From John St. at King St.; continue north on John St., left on Cannon St., left on Queen St., right on King St. and resume regular routing on King St. west of Queen St. 
• Eastbound – From Main St. at Queen St.; right on Queen St., left on Herkimer St., left on James St., right on Main St. and resume regular routing on Main St. east of James St.

Route 10 B Line detours: 

• Westbound (2:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. only) – From Cannon St. at John St., continue west on Cannon St., left on Queen St., right on King St. and resume regular routing on King St. west of Queen St.
• Eastbound - From Main St. at Queen St.; right on Queen St., left on Herkimer St., left on James St., right on Main St. and resume regular routing on Main St. east of James St.

Route 34 Upper Paradise detours: 

• Northbound – From Hess St. at Herkimer St.; right on Herkimer St., left on MacNab St., right on Bold St., right on James St., left on Augusta St., left on John St., left on Rebecca St. to temporary end of line on Rebecca St. at Hughson S
• Southbound – From Rebecca St. temporary end of line; continue west on Rebecca St., left on James St., and resume regular routing on James St. south of Main St. 

Route 99 Waterfront Shuttle detours:

• Southbound – From James St. at King St.; continue south on James St., right on Hunter St. to temporary end of line on Hunter St. at MacNab St.

Route 5 Delaware and Route 52 Dundas Local will be on detours Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 7 am till Friday, July 4, 2025, at 6 pm due to a road closure at the intersection of Governors road and Ogilvie street. 

Detour Details:

Route 5 Delaware (Head street trips only) detour: 

• Westbound to Head Street – From Osler Drive and South Street, Continue north on Osler Drive and continue north on Main Street, Right on Dundas Street and resume regular westbound routing on Dundas Street east of Main Street. 
• Eastbound to Downtown – From Dundas Street & Main Street, Left on Main Street and continue south on Osler Drive and resume regular eastbound routing on Osler Drive south of South Street.

Route 5 Delaware (Governor’s Rd & Pirie Dr trips only) detour:

• Westbound to Governors and Pirie - From Osler Drive and South Street, continue north on Osler Drive and continue north on Main Street, Left on Governors Road and resume regular westbound routing on Governors Road west of Ogilvie Street. 
• Eastbound to Downtown – From Governors Road & Ogilvie Street, continue east on Governors Road, Right on Main Street and continue south on Osler Drive and resume regular eastbound routing on Osler Drive south of South Street.

• Southbound to Orchard & Pleasant – From York Street & Main Street, Left on Main Street and continue south on Osler Drive, Left on South Street, Left on Old Ancaster Road and resume regular southbound routing on Old Ancaster Road south of South Street.

Due to construction, Route 5 Delaware will be on detour, Friday, June 27, 2025, from 7 am to 5pm.

• EASTBOUND (To Downtown) – From Whitney Avenue and Lower Horning Road, left on Lower Horning Road, right on Ofield Road, right on Ewen Road, left on Whitney Avenue and resume regular eastbound routing on Whitney Avenue east of Ewen Road.
• WESTBOUND (From Downtown) – From Whitney Avenue and Ewen Road, right on Ewen Road, left on Ofield Road, left on Lower Horning Road, right on Whitney Avenue and resume regular westbound routing on Whitney Avenue, west of Lower Horning Road.
