Easter Weekend: What's Open & What's Closed
All City of Hamilton administrative offices will be closed on April 3 & April 6 and will reopen on April 7, 2026.
Service Closures (April 3 & April 6)
- Animal Services Office and Shelter
- Open April 4 & April 5
- ATS Customer Service Office
- Dental clinics and bus
- Hamilton Civic Museums
- Visitor Experience Centre also closed April 5
- Hamilton Farmers’ Market
- Hamilton Municipal Parking System Office
- No proactive enforcement from April 2 at 5:45 am until April 3 at 10 pm and April 5 from 5:45 am to April 6 at 10 pm.
- Complaint-based parking enforcement in effect April 5 from 6:45 am to 10 pm.
- Proactive enforcement may occur for special events and areas of interest.
- Hamilton Public Library branches (also closed April 5)

Service Adjustments
Hamilton Street Railway (HSR)
- April 3: Buses will operate a Sunday service schedule, with the last trips from downtown at 12 am.
- There will be no service on routes 12 Wentworth and 42 Mohawk East.
- April 6: Regular weekday service
DARTS
- April 3: Holiday service hours
- April 6: Regular weekday service
- All subscription trips (except dialysis) are cancelled both days. If passengers need to travel on these days, they must make a reservation in advance.
Waste Collection
- No waste collection (garbage, blue box, green bin or bulk garbage) on April 3. Pick up will occur on April 4.
- No change to waste collection schedule on April 6.
- Waste must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day.
- Transfer Stations/ Community Recycling Centres will be closed on April 3 and open on April 4 and 6.

Vacant Unit Tax Reminder
- All residential property owners are reminded to declare their properties’ occupancy status for the 2024 tax year by Wednesday, April 15, 2025.
