Easter Weekend: What's Open & What's Closed

All City of Hamilton administrative offices will be closed on Friday, April 18 & Monday, April 21 and will reopen on Tuesday, April 22.

For emergencies involving roads, water mains, sewer systems, and safety issues, please call 905-546-2489 (CITY).

Service Closures (Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21):

  • The office and shelter are open on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20.
• ATS Customer Service Office
• Dental clinics and bus
• Hamilton Civic Museums
• Hamilton Farmers’ Market
• Hamilton Municipal Parking System Office
  • No enforcement from Thursday, April 17, at 10 pm until Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10 pm and Sunday, April 20, from 5:45 am to Monday, April 21, 2025, at 10 pm.
  • Proactive enforcement may occur for special events and areas of interest.

  • Bookmobile is off the road. Extended Access and Study Hall services are not available.

Service Adjustments:

Hamilton Street Railway (HSR)

• Friday, April 18: Buses will operate a Sunday service schedule, with the last trips from downtown at 10 pm.
  • Trans-cab service will align with the HSR Sunday schedule.
  • There will be no service on routes 12 Wentworth, 42 Mohawk East and 52 Dundas Local
• Monday, April 21: Regular weekday service

DARTS

• Friday, April 18: Holiday service hours
• Monday, April 21: Regular weekday service
• Please note that all subscription trips (except dialysis) are cancelled both days. If passengers need to travel on these days, they must make a reservation in advance.

Waste Collection

• There will be no pickup on Friday, April 18. Collection for Friday will be moved to Saturday, April 19.
• Monday, April 21 will proceed as usual with regular pickup.

Community Recycling Centres

• Closed on Friday, April 18.
• Open on Saturday, April 19 and Monday, April 21.
