Scheduling & Route Changes effective September 1, 2024
Beginning on Sunday, September 1, HSR is bringing you more buses, more often, evenings and weekends. The service changes are part of year eight of the City of Hamilton’s Ten-Year Local Transit Strategy and will ensure HSR continues to support growth, improve connections, and enhance your experience while using transit.
A $0.10 increase on PRESTO fares will go into effect on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
2024 service enhancements
Sunday & holiday service on Routes 16 Ancaster, 18 Waterdown Mountaineer, myRide Waterdown, and 51 University.
Late-night service on Routes 3 Cannon, 10 B-Line, 16 Ancaster, 18 Waterdown Mountaineer, myRide, and 51 University.
Increased Sunday service frequency on Routes 3 Cannon, 4 Bayfront, 16 Ancaster, 22 Upper Ottawa, 23 Upper Gage, 24 Upper Sherman, 25 Upper Wentworth, 26 Upper Wellington, 27 Upper James, 34 Upper Paradise, 41 Mohawk, and 43 Stone Church.
Sunday Night Service Improvements
Enjoy more convenient late evening Sunday service with buses arriving every 30 minutes on the following routes.

Bus Stop Changes
With our new service starting on Sunday, September 1, there will be changes coming to bus stops in the Waterdown area. There are also minor stop changes coming to several other routes. The following bus stop changes are effective September 1, 2024.
Route 11 Parkdale
- Stop “Paramount opposite Pembroke” will now be known as “Valley Park Loop”
- Bus Route 11 Parkdale will not be stopping at “Paramount at Valley Park Loop”
Route 18 Waterdown Mountaineer
Route 18 (Northbound and Southbound) will be moved from HOLLYBUSH to CLAPPISON
myRide
Route 43 Stone Church
All destination signs for Bus Stops between Saltfleet High School and Valley Park Loop (listed below) will now say “eastbound”
Route 44 Rymal
New stop (westbound)

Fare Changes
A $0.10 increase on PRESTO fares will go into effect on Sunday, September 1.

Your PRESTO card must be set to the correct fare type to receive the discounted fare. The PRESTO E-Tickets mobile app can be used for adult, youth and senior fares.
For discounted fares, the operator may ask to see your ID. You will be required to pay the full adult fare if you do not have your ID.
How to set your fare type
Bring your ID to HSR’s Customer Service Centre at 36 Hunter St. E. (Hamilton GO Centre), Municipal Service Centres (City Hall Stoney Creek, Dundas, Ancaster) or a Shoppers Drug Mart or Fortinos location in Hamilton to set your fare type.

There are multiple routes available to get you to school
Changes are coming to myRide Waterdown
The way you book trips with MyRide is changing – pick-up or drop-off times are now guaranteed.
- Your trip will have a 15-minute window, usually 5 minutes before to 10 minutes after your requested time. If booking by drop-off time, pick-up could be up to 15 minutes earlier.
- During busy periods MyRide will suggest the next scheduled time if your preferred one isn’t available. For guaranteed arrival times, choose "drop-off by request," which ensures arrival up to 15 minutes early.
Travel times may vary due to shared rides, with potential delays of up to 10 minutes during peak travel times.
MyRide is expanding coverage with new stop locations.
You can now schedule your trip to and from Hollybush Drive, Skinner Road, and North Waterdown Drive starting September 1. Download the MyRide app for September 1 to find your new closest stop.
