Parenting Groups in Hamilton

Parenting with LOVE is a group for parents/caregivers of children six years of age and under. Parents share ideas and discuss concerns about parenting.

The group is open to parents/caregivers who:

• have limited or no access to their child and may be involved with either the Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton or the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton 
• are recommended to take a parenting course
• are interested in learning about:
  • caring for yourself and your child
  • building a good relationship with your child
  • responding to your child in a calm and positive way

Program consists of:

• Two and a half-hour sessions for eight weeks
• Bus tickets to get to the group and return home
• Certificate of participation at the end of the program

Group Triple P is an 8-week program for parents/caregivers of children two to six years of age. Parents share ideas and discuss concerns about parenting.

The group is open to parents/caregivers who:

• live with or have a reasonable amount of access to their child in order to practice strategies and report on weekly home activities
• are interested in learning about:
  • how to build a positive relationship with your child
  • ways to help your child behave well
  • responding to challenging behavior

Program consists of:

• Six two-hour in-person group sessions and two 20-minute telephone sessions
• Bus tickets to get to the group and return home
• Certificate of participation at the end of the program
