Paramedic Bike Unit coming to Hamilton will enhance emergency response
HAMILTON, ON - Hamilton Paramedic Service will be better equipped to keep community members safe with anew Paramedic Bike Unit hitting the streets next year. Thanks to a $20,000 grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada, the Hamilton Paramedic Service can initiate the establishment of a Paramedic Bike Unit in Hamilton.
A Paramedic Bike Unit will provide rapid response in difficult to reach areas of the city, including large community events, as well as in wooded areas along Hamilton’s many trails. Due to their agility, Bike Medics can more quickly access individuals in distress and begin providing emergency care until an emergency vehicle arrives.
Hamilton’s Paramedic Bike Unit is expected to be operational by spring 2021.
