City of Hamilton responding to three watermain breaks

HAMILTON, ON - City of Hamilton water crews are currently responding to multiple watermain breaks this morning that are causing both low to no water pressure for the residents in the area as well as traffic restrictions in the areas of the watermain breaks.

Due to the severity of the breaks, West 5th Rd between Rymal Rd W and Stone Church Rd W is fully closed to traffic. Traffic restrictions are currently in place on Jameston Ave between West 5th Rd and Upper James St as well as  Limeridge Rd W between Garth St and Bonaventure Dr.

The causes of the breaks are currently unknown.

The roads are expected to be open by 3p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Residents and motorists are being asked to avoid these areas if possible.
