Three construction projects beginning early next week in Hamilton
HAMILTON, ON - April 13, 2017 - The City of Hamilton will begin three construction projects in various locations across the city after the Easter weekend.
Old Dundas/Ancaster Road
The City of Hamilton will close Old Dundas/Ancaster Road on Monday, April 17, 2017 until approximately May 31, 2017 to safely complete repairs to the retaining wall. The road will be closed to traffic at Lower Lions Club Road for about 125 metres northeastward. Special accommodations will be provided to residents who live within the construction zone for their waste and recycling collection. A letter will be delivered by mail to communicate specific instructions to impacted residents.
Green Mountain Road and First Road West
The City of Hamilton will begin construction on all three intersection approaches to First Road West and Green Mountain Road Monday April 17 to May 29, 2017. Green Mountain Road will be closed May 29, to August 1, 2017 from Morrisey Boulevard to First Road West. The closure will be in effect to complete sanitary, storm, water and road construction work. Access to both Heritage Green Sports Park and the Terrapure Environmental commercial landfill will be at Mud Street West.
Wilson Street
On Tuesday April 18, 2017 the City of Hamilton will begin construction on Wilson Street between Hamilton Drive and 150 metres east of Seminole Drive in Ancaster. Motorists can expect closures along that stretch weekdays from 7 am to 7 pm. The work will include reconstruction of the road and sidewalk, construction of storm sewers, replacement of the watermain and improvements to street lighting. The work is expected to be completed, weather permitting, by November, 2017.
The City of Hamilton thanks residents for their patience as we complete these upgrades.
