Tourism Hamilton Welcomes Supercrawl
HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton invites the public to visit the Tourism Hamilton Visitor Centre, 28 James St N., during the annual Supercrawl event on Thurs. Sept. 13 to Sun. Sept. 16, 2018. Visitors and residents of Hamilton are welcome to drop by to get local tourism information, receive assistance with wayfinding, and participate in activities.
The Visitor Centre will be open as follows:
- Thurs. Sept. 13 from 9 am to 9 pm
- Fri. Sept. 14 from 9 am to 9 pm
- Sat. Sept.15 from 12 noon to 9 pm
- Sun. Sept. 16 from 12 noon to 6 pm

#MyHamilton Photo Contest
Tourism Hamilton invited the public to share their photos capturing the best of Hamilton’s vibrant urban landscape and our stunning natural landscapes in the 2018 #MyHamilton photo contest. Hundreds of photos were submitted to the contest and 10 finalists, 5 from each category, were selected by a panel of judges. The public can vote for their favourite image in person at the Visitor Centre or online via Tourism Hamilton’s social media during Supercrawl.

Love your City, Share Your Stories – Music Lives Here
Everyone has a story. Six Hamiltonians were invited to share their music stories as part of the Hamilton Public Library, Local History & Archives digital storytelling project in partnership with the City of Hamilton’s Music Strategy. Their stories will be launched online on Thurs. Sept. 13 at www.hamiltonstories.ca/music-lives-here and a complementary exhibit will be on display at the Lister Block, 1st floor, during Supercrawl. Storytellers include Evelyn Auchinvole, Bob Doidge, Harrison Kennedy, Jessy Lanza, Wilamina McGrimmond and Mother Tareka.

Anne Foster Windows Opening Reception
An opening reception for the newest Anne Foster Windows display will be held on Fri. Sept. 14, 2018 from 6 to 9 pm at the Tourism Hamilton Visitor Centre, 28 James St. N. Created by local artist Jeff Butters, the window display celebrates Hamilton’s music history. The opening reception will include remarks from Butters at 7:30 pm and representatives from the City of Hamilton’s Transportation Planning team will have an outreach table providing cycling materials including route maps, SoBi brochures, safety information and, a map of the planned cycling network. Butters’ display can be viewed until Nov. 26, 2018.

Alegria Dance Company
Join Alegria Dance Company in the Visitor Centre on Sat. Sept. 15 for free Salsa dancing lessons from 6 to 6:30 pm and free Bachata lessons from 7 to 7:30 pm. Parks Canada
Parks Canada will be on site at the Visitors Centre on Sun. Sept. 16 from 12 noon to 4 pm. Parks Canada will be hosting family friendly activities which include a scavenger hunt and a special appearance from their mascot Parka the Beaver.
