99th Annual Fall Garden & Mum Show kicks off Friday

HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton is inviting residents and visitors to the Gage Park Greenhouses between Friday, October 18 and Sunday, October 27 to celebrate the 99th Annual Fall Garden & Mum Show.

The theme this year is, “The Secret Life of Bugs” where visitors will enjoy various displays featuring insect inspired floral designs including Charlotte the Spider, Spotty Bug Lady Bug and Beatrice the Butterfly.

The Mum Show is an amazing floral display created by the City’s talented horticulture team. The whole family can enjoy this breathtaking display of over 200 varieties of chrysanthemums, and more than 100,000 blooms. This is the first year the Mum Show will include the newly constructed 14,000 sq. ft. Tropical Greenhouse.

Visitors can partake in one of the daily workshops to learn practical skills and tips for making the most of their garden space, drop into the Family Zone for games, crafts and our reading nook. Listen to the live entertainment, enjoy lunch, dinner or an afternoon tea at the Mum Show Cafe or just take in the beautiful array of colours.

This year features a few special events, including:

• Yoga in the Garden - Relax with an hour long session of yoga at the Mum Show. Bring your own mat and join our instructor for a unique yoga session.
  • Friday, October 18 from 7  to 8 pm
• Adult DIY Workshops – Flex your green thumb and make your own pumpkin planters, tantalizing terrariums or bamboo kits.
  • Saturday, October 19 from 11 am to 5 pm.
  • Sunday, October 20 from 11 am to 5 pm
• Kids DIY Workshops – Fun for the whole family! Make your own Bug Slime, Bug Bath Bomb, and more.
  • Saturday, October 26 from 10 am to 4 pm
  • Sunday, October 27 from 10 am to 4 pm

Other Information

• The Mum Show offers free parking, and is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm.
• Admission is $7 for adults and $6 for seniors and children five to 12.
• Children under five are free.
• Family passes for 2 adults and 2 children is $20.
