You’re invited: City of Hamilton’s inaugural meeting of the 2022-2026 Term of City Council
HAMILTON, ON – The inaugural meeting of Hamilton’s newly elected City Council will take place on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 6:30 pm at the Hamilton Convention Centre.
Community members are invited to attend the meeting to watch Hamilton’s Mayor and Members of Council be sworn in for the 2022-2026 term. The inauguration is free to attend and will be held at the Convention Centre to allow increased space for community participation.
Seating for community members is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 5:45 pm. Accessible seating is available. The meeting will also be broadcast on Cable 14 and posted to the City of Hamilton’s YouTube channel following the event.

- Hamilton’s 2022 municipal election saw 143,375 ballots cast out of 405,288 eligible voters. In 2018, there were 138,549 ballots cast.
- A total of 109,179 eligible residents voted in person on election day, while 31,748 voted in person on advanced voting days.
