Temporary closure of James Street Stairs beginning Monday for asphalt upgrades
HAMILTON, ON – In order to safely make pathway improvements, the City of Hamilton will temporarily close the James Street Stairs including the pathway to the stairs from Freeman Place beginning Monday, July 22 until Friday July 26, weather permitting.
The entire length of the James Street Stairs will be closed to allow crews to demolish existing asphalt pathways, lay a granular base and install new asphalt. To ensure public safety, the James Street Stairs and the connecting path to Freeman Place will not be accessible for the entire duration of the renovation.
The City thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during this temporary closure.
