Bay Street Bike Lanes: Design Review Meeting Tomorrow
HAMILTON, ON - November 2, 2016 - Tomorrow evening, the City of Hamilton is hosting a public meeting to review proposed plans for bike lanes along Bay Street.
Bike lanes are planned to be installed along Bay Street between Stuart Street and Aberdeen Avenue in the summer of 2017.
The public meeting will be held on November 3, 2016 at Hamilton City Hall between 6 pm and 8 pm. Attendees will be able to view the planned design for the bike lanes and ask questions regarding the project.
The City of Hamilton’s Cycling Master Plan (2009) identifies the need for an on-street cycling facility in this corridor to provide an efficient and safe network to encourage cycling. Bike lanes on Bay Street will create a convenient cycling connection between the Durand neighbourhood, the downtown core, the Central neighbourhood, the new West Harbour GO Station, Bayfront Park, and the North End neighbourhood.
