Bold Street & Duke Street Changing to Two-Way on Monday

HAMILTON, ON – September 29, 2016 – The City of Hamilton will be converting Bold Street and Duke Street to two-way effective Monday, October 3, 2016.

Both streets will accommodate two-way traffic between James Street S. and Queen Street S. Bold Street will remain one-way west of Queen Street S.

The change will involve the addition of new signs, pavement markings and stop signs. Crews will make adjustments to parking, but the overall number of parking spots will increase on both streets. Some additional changes will address the turning radius at intersections.

As part of the City of Hamilton’s Transportation Master Plan, Council approved the conversion of eight roadways from one-way to two-way in May 2014.

Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution while proceeding through this area over the coming months.
