Call for nominations for the 22nd Annual Senior of the Year Awards
HAMILTON, ON - January 16, 2017 - The call for nominations for the City of Hamilton’s 22nd Annual Senior of the Year Awards is now open and the deadline for nominations is March 31, 2017 at 4 pm.
The Senior of the Year Awards is a program that recognizes senior citizens residing in Hamilton who have made outstanding voluntary contributions to enriching the social, cultural or civic life of our community.
Award categories
There are nine award categories, including:
- Senior of the Year (provided by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration)
- Lifetime Achievement
- Innovation
- Behind the Scenes
- Diversity and Cultural
- Leadership
- Compassion and Companionship
- Economic Leadership
- Healthy and Active Living
A gala event to celebrate the achievements of the nominees and award recipients is being planned for June 13, 2017 at Michelangelo Events & Conference Centre located at 1555 Upper Ottawa Street in Hamilton. Tickets will be available starting May 1, 2017 at a cost of $25 per person.
