Celebrate Bike to Work and School Day on May 30, 2016
New and experienced cyclists to meet at City Hall at the start of the workday
HAMILTON, ON - May 26, 2016 - Hamilton will celebrate its 8th Annual Bike to Work Day at City Hall on Monday May 30, 2016 from 7 to 9 am. Together with hundreds of cyclists, Cycle Hamilton, Smart Commute Hamilton, SoBi Hamilton and New Hope Community Bikes will host the fun filled morning event kicking off Bike Month and Bike to School Week.
Hamilton’s Bike to Work Day will include the presentation of the Community in Motion Active Transportation Awards. These annual awards go to members of the community who have made an effort to actively support and promote the use of healthy and sustainable forms of transportation such as walking, cycling and public transit.
The event will include an address from Mayor Eisenberger and will be hosted by Ward 2 Councillor, Jason Farr. Cyclists will enjoy live musical entertainment on the VeloStage from local singer/songwriter, Amber Edgar and the Flamingo Mutiny Brigade (drum corp) with complimentary refreshments from Homegrown Hamilton.

All registrants will receive a free t-shirt and be entered into a draw for a free bike.
Bike to Work and School Day is an initiative of Smart Commute Hamilton which helps local employers and residents explore different commute choices including walking, cycling, transit and carpooling.
