HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton is pleased to share the recipients of the 2022 City of Hamilton Arts Awards. Thirteen artists, arts community leaders and arts champions have been selected based on their work, impact on their field and contributions to the arts community in Hamilton.
Congratulations to the 2022 City of Hamilton Arts Awards recipients
The City of Hamilton Arts Awards is one of the oldest municipally-led arts awards programs in Canada. Following two years of celebrating Hamilton’s arts community exclusively online, the City will be honouring Arts Awards recipients at a dynamic, multi-venue experience as part of Hamilton Arts Week 2022. On Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 7 pm, all are welcome to attend the celebration at one of the three venues: Dundas Valley School of Art, Playhouse Cinema and the Art Galley of Hamilton, for free exhibitions and performances, film screenings, secret patios, vinyl lounges, vintage ice cream trucks, and more.

The arts community was especially hard hit during the pandemic, yet Hamilton artists were among the first to step up to share their talents and assist the community, so I am very excited that this year's Arts Awards celebration will be in person and online. Congratulations and thank you to the nominees and thirteen recipients this year, as each of your art endeavours helps make Hamilton an extraordinary and creative community.
