City of Hamilton 13th Annual Truck Pull & BBQ in support of United Way takes place tomorrow
HAMILTON, ON – September 21, 2016 – The City of Hamilton kicks off its annual employees’ United Way campaign 13th Annual Truck Pull & BBQ is tomorrow at 12 noon behind City Hall on Jackson Street.
Hundreds of City of Hamilton employees will compete to pull a 32,000lb Freightliner Sander Truck 50 feet down Jackson Street. Sixteen teams will represent various City of Hamilton departments.
Jeff Vallentin, CEO of the United Way of Burlington/Greater Hamilton will welcome spectators and participants.
Entertainment will be provided by the Rich Cloke and refreshments will be available. For $5, participants and spectators can purchase a hamburger or hotdog, pop and a bag of chips. Members of the public are encouraged to come out and have some fun for a good cause.
Last year’s kick-off event alone raised over $5,700 for the United Way of Burlington/Greater Hamilton.

Employees of the City of Hamilton support the United Way of Burlington/Greater Hamilton on an annual basis through payroll deduction and special events. Employees raised a total of almost $141,000 in 2015 campaign and won the 2015 ArcelorMittal Dofasco Community Builder Award.
